Wednesday night I came from work around midnight and started to work on this cake. It is a 18" yellow cake that has butter cream as icing and raspberry filling. I used the basket weave design to represent the basket that the first settlers were using to put gift for one another way back in the 16 century. My Dad's birthday was couple days before Thanksgiving. So we celebrated his 84th birthday like always by being thankful for all our blessings as a family on Thanksgiving day.
